Hal, I ran your command and got this in Terminal:

drwxrwxr-t+ 64 root admin 2176 Nov 9 22:19 /Library
0: group:everyone deny delete
Any ideas what is this all about? I don't recall changing any permissions to anything special, and have only one admin user plus an admin test account (hardly ever used). Could that be a keychain issue because many passwords have been manually set to be used by all applications rather than the one that created them?
