You can check out the various opioids online and/or via the PDR. Percocet is oxycodone + acetaminophen; oxycodone also goes by the trade name OxyContin. Fentanyl (as a trans-dermal patch), aka Duragesic, is a good alternative. Your surgeon should be able to tailor such items to suit your circumstances and minimize annoying side-effects.
