You're like my wife, The Luddite. Has a phone (that I pay for) but refuses to switch it on. Too complicated.

Apple wants to send you confirmation codes, all my banks send confirmation codes, credit cards want confirmation on large purchases.
Actually, I've got an iPhone, but pretty much only in the physical sense, because I haven't got a phone plan...anybody who needs me just has to wait 'til I get home and see my answering machine blinking. I bought it because I needed a camera, and even with its potential functionality it didn't cost me any more than a simple camera would have cost.

I get all my confirmation/verification codes by landline, and I thank whatever gods may be every day for it and email still being options. (There's one code that Apple kept pushing to my phone, but I deleted the phone from my profile, and I think I've beaten that plague.)

(I occasionally run into situations that can be dealt with only via a texted code, and I've so far been able to turn my back on them and walk away, but if I'm ever stuck, I'll use my daughter's phone as my mailbox.)
