At one point in this discussion ryck said that the Data folder was a folder he created to hold a variety of stuff of his choosing and creation. Could this be as simple (hah!) as a name "conflict". "Data" is the name of the Apple created volume that did not exist as such in the recent past, but does now. Change the name?
