That got me wondering, so I tried to boot into each of my 3 CCC clones - 2 on my internal drive and 1 on my external - and found that my external clone - although like yours, it shows in Startup Disk - has become unbootable. It hangs and eventually just reverts to my startup disk. (I know it was bootable up to some point in Monterey, but I've got no recollection of the last version I booted into.)
