(3) Titanium, s3amazonaws? I would lose what I'm typing if go asking for the onyx download sites. There several which I can't remember but if you still want them it would have to be a later post.

(5) When I tried to download, either player install or Google diverted me to install player or log in to google. Specifically when I click on the .dmg file.

Item 5 together with your other problem thread convince me your Launch Services Database is well and truly hosed and must be rebuilt. Which leaves you with a chicken or egg conundrum of needing to rebuild the database in order to install the software you need to rebuild the database. crazy confused

[quote-jaybsss] I will look into some anti-malware apps.

here are some of those download sites. clever hello, applexnet, space monkey, treetxt1397 & mac torrents. [/quote]

RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • Delete any references you have to clever hello, applexnet, space monkey, treetxt1397, and especially Mac torrents as they are likely sources of getting more than you bargained for in the form of the 4 different malware on your system not to mention it may have been something from one of those sources that messed up the Launch Services Database.
  • In the future download any software from the developer's web site, or the Apple Store — even if you have to pay for it. (The developer deserves a fair return on their labor.)
  • Send an email to Titanium Software at contact@titanium-software.fr explaining that you cannot open the dmg because the Launch Services Database is corrupted and ask if they can send or point you to an uncompressed copy of OnyX 3.6.8. (Remember Titanium Software is in France, and allow for the appropriate lag in their reading your email and responding to your email.)

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
