I am becoming suspicious that your browser, your computer, your router, or a DNS server somewhere in your network has a serious malware infection that is re-directing your internet queries maliciously.

As others have noted: I have never encountered an OnyX install other than a drag and drip install from an open .dmg.
  1. I know you ran Antivirus Zap Scanner, but have you tried a different anti-malware tool such as MalwareBytes or Intego VirusBarrier Scanner?
  2. If you go to System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS what it the IP address of your DNS server?
  3. Can you provide a sample of some of the 10 OnyX download sites you tried?
  4. When you download are you getting a .dmg file?
  5. When you say "Google gets involved" specifically what happens?
  6. Have you shut down and re-started your computer at any point in this process?

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
