I don't know if this interests you, but One-time purchase Microsoft Office 2021 coming to Mac on Oct. 5 I subscribe to Office 365 and it is definitely compatible with Big Sur. Yes, having to pay a subscription fee rankles, but it comes out to very little on a monthly basis so I held my nose and did it. In truth, the only Office app that I use is Word.
