NordVPN has been a major provider with a great reputation for a long time, but I'll bet I beat you on cost (IIRC the CyberGhost lifetime subscription was under $50 but that was a marketing fluke when they were a startup). 😀 I am curious about your email issue. CyberGhost passes email both ways with no problem. If I were you, I would contact NordVPN Tech Support.

As far as running VPN all the time I am unaware of any problems that might create except you won't be able to send or receive email, unless you can work something out with NordVPN Tech Support, and you may encounter occasional security issues with some web sites that are location sensitive. My bank, for example, knows my browser signature and where I am located (or at least my regular IP address) and If I change/update the browser or go through a VPN it requires additional identity verification.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
