I believe that the green dot options to which Macmaniac is referring only occur in Catalina and Big Sur (and I'm not sure about Catalina, but I definitely see them in Big Sur).
In Catalina hovering over the green dot gives three options: full screen, tile window to the left of screen or tile window to the right of screen. Cool.
