That is a great price, but remember there is no upgrade for either the memory or storage in an M1 Mac as it is all on the fabric and that $600 model has only 8GB of RAM and 265GB storage which doesn't leave much breathing room.
For my purposes, it is easily enough. My 2018 Mac Mini has a 256 gig SSD and 8 gig of Ram, and it runs fast and smooth. Of course I make a concerted effort to kepp my machines lean, mean, and clean.
