I don't use Safari, but maybe there is a newer version in OS 11.3, currently in beta testing. According to what I am seeing about features of V11.3 of Big Sur, one of them is "More customization options in Safari". Do not know what that means, but maybe there is newer version of Safari that might address the issue.
The bug is
sooo, sooo innocuous, and the fix is so ridiculously simple and quick that belaboring the issue is
faaar more trouble than dealing with it.
