"President @realDonaldTrump has filed two lawsuits - federal and state - against @GaSecofState," Shafer tweeted. "The telephone conference call @GaSecofState secretly recorded was a 'confidential settlement discussion' of that litigation, which is still pending.
Shafer's characterization of that call as a "settlement discussion" is a chilling reminder of just how far removed from reality some Republicans are.
I don't doubt that it was intended to be confidential, though.
It's truly laughable.
And, by the way, despite Shafer's assertion that Raffensperger recorded the call, the person who recorded it is yet to be named.
