Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms just turned down an, as yet unidentified, Cabinet appointment? Who would do that? And why?
From what I have seen of her, she would be a good and effective candidate for some cabinet job. My guess is that what was offered is not an especially high-profile position. On the other hand, she gets a good deal of CNN airtime as Mayor of her troubled city.
Will have to see if she further explains her decision.
