It's not a victory for religion over science, rather the decision is a victory for democracy and the Constitution.

The Court's job is to decide Constitutionality...period, and a decision that science trumps (Apologies frown ) Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, regardless of the circumstances, would set a dangerous precedent.

If science can be used to fetter the Constitution, even in the present circumstances, it will leave us wide open to the whims and whimsies of every crackpot out there.

Science would be fettering the Constitution if it said you cannot practice your religion. Is it fettering the Constitution to say for this period of time, in the interest of public health, you should practice your religion outside or with fewer people inside?
