I haven't been able to view any of these imgur links in Safari (13.0.4, High Sierra 10.13.6) for at least a couple of months now. I get the black screen, too. Occasionally, mousing over some random spot will produce a brief flash of content which immediately disappears again. I've messed around with various settings to no avail.
I don't think it's related to having an account or not, because the images display as expected in Firefox.
