That's what led me my conclusions in the first place; I don't know how Rita found them if she couldn't find either /Library or /System. (I haven't got a Keyboard Layouts folder in /Users/Library; have you got one?)
> Before trying that, though, just take a look in that folder and see if there's already an AppleKeyboardLayouts.bundle in there. If there is, the problem is likely to be something else, so it's probably wise not to replace that bundle with the one you got from artie.

And, finally, we're still looking at the possibility that those keyboards were in a thrift shop for reasons other than obsolescence.
