I can't find the site I used just now, but you may be right. Unfortunately the Logitech speaker's cable is wired into the speaker so I can't replace it. I've gone another day without using the speaker, and I haven't had a problem again. I will plug it in tomorrow and if there is a problem, I will toss the speaker and try to get a new one. From past troubleshooting experience I would start with the least expensive items such as cables, hubs, and devices including keyboards and mice. Just because something has been working for a long time doesn't mean it cannot or has not failed. NOTE: Your Logitech speaker may be fine, but the connecting cable may be shorting out internally.
