Thanks Joe, I'll give that a try and report back.....it could go one of two ways - I'll either regain the Scan option for my HP M1536 MFP, or I will lose my Scan option for my Brother MFC-J985 multi-function printer.

....and the answer is.....
You nailed it!!! I regained all lost functionality on the HP and didn't affect the functionality of the Brother.
edited to update the result of resetting the print system...
