But you shouldn’t do it even then. Your body uses it to get rid of salt and toxins, worsening the situation often, if you are dehydrated and have a weakened immune system.

I stand (somewhat) corrected. There are indeed low levels of bacteria in most healthy people's urine, but not enough to be problematic if it's drunk.
I would rather drink urine than tap water from many places (eg, Detroit) or untreated water from many mountain streams (warning: giardia).
But to each his own.
