Kinda sounds like Putin and the Russian oligarchs, doesn't it?
My read is that Trump idolizes Putin, is insanely jealous of his thievery, and would match it if he could, but in the end, he's just a penny-ante player...nowhere near in the same league on any level.
Although, personal thievery ambitions aside, Trump is managing to accomplish one thing that Putin has already achieved, which is to turn his country into a plutocracy.
