My read is that Trump idolizes Putin, is insanely jealous of his thievery, and would match it if he could, but in the end, he's just a penny-ante player ... nowhere near in the same league on any level.
Keep in mind that Herr Tromp wasn't trained in the skullduggery and vicious subterfuge of the KGB. He only aspires to it. And he's bad at it.
