Personally I think ingeniously disingenuous may be closer to the mark. Never understimate Herr Trumpness. He has a knack for fooling a lot of the people a lot of the time.
If for nothing else, we've got to give him at least a bit of credit for being perhaps the most accomplished liar of all time.
I'm constantly amazed by his audiences being sucked in by the laughably diametric opposite of what he told his preceding audience.
