In the past, after doing upgrades of hardware or software, I have found green-colored exec files too. In my case, they seem to be old files in formats that no longer exist and/or are no longer supported. They were not originally UNIX files but were documents.
As stated above, given their location, I would say safe to trash.
On a Mac since 1984.
