(This, by the way, is what Get Info tells me about my file, which opens in TextEdit, as does Urquhart's. All my files in that folder except for one that's a TextWrangler text document w icon [my doing, apparently, but I dunno why] are TextEdit.app Documents, but none of them carries the TextEdit icon.)

  1. Quit Safari.
  2. Trash your file.
  3. Empty the trash.
  4. Shut down/Start up.
  5. Cross your fingers.
  6. Check your file.
