what I truly found interesting was that close to 1/2 of the hard drives that were doing something nasty (like tapping on boot) weren't doing it when I tried to record them today. Maybe "let it sit a day/month/year" is a valid quick fix?
The tak-tak-tak-tak were not all recorded. There were just too many to bother with. Seagates out of macbooks. Very popular way to go. Does not include drives returned for warranty.
