There's no way for you to get a later version of macOS other than HS?
Not that I'm aware of, but I haven't really tried. I wouldn't even be using Yosemite if it hadn't come installed on my last MacBook Pro. I was perfectly happy with Snow Leopard. Apple hasn't released anything since then that had any feature that I needed or wanted. Just clutter.
