... the electoral system allowed the person with fewer votes to take the top office - just as the similarly flawed Canadian system is capable of doing. Both systems need fixing.
We stand a better chance of that happening (in our lifetimes) than south of the border, where the moose-mess is constitutionally enshrined in the form of the Electoral College. Our system of "first past the post" is nominally far easier to fix.
