I tried Artie’s suggestion and it worked. laugh

Reinstalling is a pain in the nether regions of the anatomy but...
  • I got everything I wanted installed/re-installed and working properly
  • forced a Time Machine backup
  • booted from the Recovery Drive
  • erased the boot volume
  • reinstalled High Sierra
  • recovered everything but the undesired account from Time Machine.
I had tried to avoid this as it had taken 2 to 2.5 hours to do in the past, but given the speed of the MacBook Pro, the speed of my new Mesh WiFi network, and the Time Machine data set was only about three days deep, the entire process took around 45 minutes. shocked grin

Thanks Artie 👌

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
