I don't know how long they keep the images up though, could be a week or less if you aren't registered. don't use for permanent hosting of images or anything you need to be available down the road. (use dropbox for that)
UPDATE: As of February 2015, Imgur now states that images are never deleted unless requested.
An image is only removed if deletion is requested.
Haven't found it on Imgur's site, though.
