Following the Comey testimony we learned that Trump's lawyer is Marc Kasowitz, who has been employed by Trump for many years on various things but has little experience in criminal defense matters.

So, you ask, why wouldn't Trump get a lawyer who knows the ins and outs of the issues facing him? Michael Isikioff of Yahoo News reported that four top D.C. lawyers had refused to handle Trump’s defense - essentially because Trump is both a know-it-all and a piker likely to stiff them on the bill.

According to Yahoo: “The concerns were, ‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen,’” said one lawyer close to the White House who is familiar with some of the discussions between the firms and the administration, as well as deliberations within the firms themselves.

Is it Karma when your lifelong habit of skipping out on bills means you get an attorney ill-prepared for the task?
