Your system was doing exactly what it was designed to do when it recreated the empty calendar file.
If you are good at Unix administration you might be able to fool the system….

….but that would invariably require high maintenance to keep it working
High level of maintenance? Definitely ain't me, either….
So, since iCloud does not recognize the Apple ID and Password that the rest of Apple recognizes…and they won't conduct the communication they promised when the issue was reported, I guess I'm stuck with the aggravating pop-up caution forever.
What a pain…...
