You have 4 GB of RAM? Oh, yes, that definitely explains your slowdown and other problems, no question. I'm surprised you can get anything done at all!
For example, right now on my laptop as I type this, my Web browser (Google Chrome) is using 5.87GB of RAM--which is to say, more memory than your computer has total.
Yes, nowadays I guess 4 GB isn't that much. But like I said, I only surf the net and do email. Not much else. Luckily Safari only uses 511.3 megabytes. I wonder why Google chrome uses so much more.
