"Physician, heal thyself" can now be "iPad, heal thyself".
Without any other prodding, my iPad now allows deleting photos. In the Camera Roll mode, if a picture is selected the menu bar comes up with a heart, a symbol for sending, a trash bin, some parallel lines with circles, and Details - all on the right.
Or, choosing Select and selecting a number of pictures generates a trash bin on the left side.
Given it's today, I'll assume Santa brought a solution. *<]:{)
