WDC WD7500BPVT-75A1YT0 disk0 : (750,16 GB) (Rotational) A friend has a similar model (same year but 13-inch) and it, too, is slow with Sierra (and it was with El Capitan as well). Hers has a 5400 rpm hard drive and, if you have one also, that could be the bottleneck. 7200 rpm drives are considerably faster. It would appear that the disk may be 5400 rpm.
