What happened is that one of Trump's supporters showed shock over the comment and the Times did NOT report it.
After looking at the video again it now appears to me that they edited out the man's shock and left his rolling his eyes at his neighbor's reaction as his reaction, i.e. they rewrote history.
Shame on the Times!
