When I connected to my MBP, again, the artifact reappeared, and then disappeared when I disconnected (as it did with my wife's machine). The OS on my wife’s machine and the MBP are different.
It seems I can turn the artifact on & off at will by merely accessing my LAN.
For sure, far more questions than answers…
I suspect we all can agree that I'm confused...
