My main OS is on a SSD mounted on a PCIe card and is the only partition. I have previously installed El Capitan on this drive and ended up cloning my old Yosemite OS back. So, yeah, that would explain the 10.11.3 Recovery drive.

As Adobe Illustrator CS5 is the only thing holding me back from moving to El Capitan, I can see a sheer rock face in my not too distant future.

I also have 10.6.8 on a SSD. The only reason I don't use that all the time is the outdated browsers.

I'll probably stick with Yosemite until it gives me grief (this problem is definitely not grief) then move to El Capitan.

Thanks, all, for your input.
