Really? To start… off the top of my head I'd suggest the 10's of 1,000s of Canadians whose livelihoods rely on the nearly $700 billion dollars in trade we do with Americans.

That's pretty much irrelevant since one can't change physical neighbors. As the Germans say: Quatsch! "Peaceful coexistence" is a convenient fiction which only exists because the "800-pound gorilla in the room" deems it acceptable for the moment. The days of Laura Secord are long since gone. Just remember what happened with the Avro Arrow and national pride.
