... every spring as I drive the highways in this state to see the roadsides emblazoned with bluebonnets and [Indian paintbrush] I am grateful to Lady Bird Johnson for championing the planting of wildflowers by the state highway department. A program that cost virtually nothing and contributes to the pleasure of everyone.
The program was indeed wizard ... although I do miss the far less intrusive Burma-Shave jingles, which also helped to keep one alert on the road.
