¿Qué pasa? Normally Americans (non-felons) are allowed access to Canada with little ado.
You were up here before in the not-so-distant past for book promotion and didn't seem to have any difficulties in crossing the border. What's changed?

I'm trying to get a work permit/residency visa, rather than just visit. My partner and I have started a company that's headquartered in Vancouver, but technically I'm not allowed to do any work for the company unless I'm in the US. If I work from the US, Oregon wants a bite out of the company in the form of taxes (there's a state income tax on non-local companies that have a "business presence" in the state).
