I've made a backup of the FTM database, checked the health of the database, and verified that the server is working properly. I'm not seeing anything in the logs that might point to a problem, the database integrity checks out OK, and there's nothing that would cause the foulup I can detect. It's a bit frustrating.

If it keeps happening, I'll put in a request to have the host tech support folks look at it, though I'm not sure they can do anything I can't.

Right now, FTM is averaging about 900 visitors a day, and the average visitor stays for about 10 minutes and loads 3 pages. The busiest times of the day are 11 AM to 4 PM server time, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I suspect what will happen if I open a tech support case is the techs will simply tell me we need more server resources and will advise moving to a virtual private server, which will add significant expense to running the site.
