I really should have been more specific. The site I visited that required the Java Plugin is: Speedtest. I use it to check my DL & UL speeds. In that regard all is well. It's only when I do a Ping test that the issue surfaces.

Now, thanks to NetWork Tools and DSL Line Quality I have all data I can understand; and without installing Java.
