My applications folder was showing up in the Dock with an Address Book icon too (in leopard), where switching the Display option fixed that problem. What I don't understand is why it doesn't revert back to the Applications icon (as it does in a finder window sidebar). That was a really helpful feature! As it is, I now end up squinting at three generic (boring!) folder icons, where the only difference between them are mere ghosts of icons past.
