there was a pattern, it was just too short of a pattern to be recognized as such... one blink! (and it repeats the pattern indefinitely) So where three blinks is blink-blink-blink.....blink-blink-blink.....blink-blink-blink..... one blink looks more like blink...blink...blink...blink...blink... and is less obvious as a "repeating pattern of 1's"
