With an intermittent problem like this they can test the Airport card or any other component and unless it is in failing mode
at the time they perform the test, it will test good. Thirty seconds or one closing and opening of the lid later it may test bad. It is relatively easy to test a problem that can be
reliably reproduced, but this kind of a problem may not be infallibly identified until it deteriorates to a total failure.
