Anyhow, back on topic: Just wanted to point out that beta has become a relative term, so no inherent reason to fear it. For example, Google
defines beta in their own terms; they just took Gmail out of beta a few weeks ago. And in some cases "stable" releases can lag behind seemingly for ages, while developers
expect users to instead run the beta. The Tab Mix Plus add-on for Firefox is one such example. LS's case is similar: just because it's officially beta, doesn't mean it's no good. Whenever a new OS is released that requires some quick patching from software developers, you'll tend to see a lot of companies recommending betas for compatibility until they've had the time to run them through more rigorous testing. Basically, it's a
CYA play, and understandably so.
