The bounce backs are happening before your e-mail attempt ever reaches his Macintosh.....that process is happening at the mail server which he uses (and unless he is running his own mail server hosted on his Macintosh, the flavor of his chosen computer makes no difference in the result).
Hi MacManiac, I guessed that, and tried to send him the bounceback message as displayed above. That got bounced back too.
