Safari also has the ability to use "Extensions". Go to the Safari menu in Safari and look at "Safari Extensions…". You will see lots of stuff, but look for the following.
I use "Ultimate Status Bar" which is a free download from the above menu. It has the advantage of showing the full link, even if the original is a shortened version, plus other options.
Apple/Safari supports the use of these Extensions and they are easy to select and install.
