It looks to me like the Canon driver(s) may indeed be the problem, judging by the Console excerpt you provided following your Terminal adventure. In particular, the

Error loading long convoluted path: no suitable image found. Did find: long convoluted path: mach-o, but wrong architecture

entries suggest that you may have installed one or more PPC drivers.

Forgive me if this was covered earlier in the thread, but have you tried a Safe Boot? That would seem to be an obvious step when troubleshooting long boot times.

I'm betting that the MacKeeper-related Console entries, whatever the explanation for their presence, were a red herring, and that the real issue is incompatible software.
